Small in size and easy to use, the Drew Scientific DS5 HbA1c Measurement System is ideal for primary laboratory clinics or satellite laboratory settings. This is a far more desirable step than manual or point-of-care systems.

Glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c) is a very useful test for monitoring people with diabetes. It is a measurement of a patient's average blood glucose levels over the past 3 months and is therefore a useful monitoring tool. In order to measure HvA1c, it must be separated from non-glycated hemoglobin.

Data Output: IResults are printed out using the integral printer. The printout shows a chromatogram so that result quality retention time and HbA1c result can be checked. Data can be transmitted via an RS232 port. The results for the last run are also stored on the integral disk drive.

Flagging: A full range of error codes are provided to aid in dealing with peculiar samples and troublshooting.
Performance and Standardization: The DS5 is certified to produce results equivalent to DCCT requirements. This means that the accuracy and precision of the DS5 meets all available standards for production of quality results. In addition to the DS5 kit a DS5 calibrator is also avilable. This enables the user to calibrate the system to either of the internationally recognized standards IFCC.
Quality Control: The DS5 HbA1c controls are assayed independently to give values on the DS5. The controls are lyophilized and reconstituted with 0.3ml of water. Open vial stability in common with regular blood samples is one week.
