Cryogenic Low Temperature Gloves, For Liquid Nitrogen Container Handling (CAT#: STEM-AL2-2295-ZJF)

The cryogenic low temperature gloves are protective gloves worn when handling material stored in liquid nitrogen. They are used when racks, canisters or vials are lifted out of a container and moved to a work surface or transfer vessel. The insulating construction slows heat flow from the hand into the cold item, which protects the skin during short handling steps. Gloves of this type also keep the operator from touching surfaces that have been chilled to cryogenic temperature. They are reusable and are stored next to the container so that they are available whenever samples are retrieved. The gloves form part of the accessory group supplied for liquid nitrogen containers rather than being part of the vessel. No services or consumables are required, and the item is put on immediately before a retrieval step. After use they are dried and returned to storage for the next handling operation.
