Corning^® CoolCell^® manufactured by Corning is designed for use with a -80°C freezer to provide alcohol-free freezing at the rate of -1°C/minute that is ideal for cryopreservation of most cells and cell lines. Corning^® CoolCell^® consist of an uniform-density cross-linked polyethylene foam, a solid state core, and radial vial symmetry. The non-absorbent foam will impose negligible change in the freezer environment; thereby protecting nearby frozen samples. It is able to remove vials by tipping the device upside down.
