Delta-Cast^® Conformable Polyester Casting Tape features sheer flexibility. Once set, the substrate can easily be cut and trimmed with cast scissors to virtually any shape. Conformable Polyester Casting Tape is ideal for Functional Cast Therapy (FCT) applications: the cast may easily be customized to allow more flexibility outside the joint area, helping reduce muscle atrophy. Aplly more layer to increase rigidity. When using with special padding and fastening components, Polyester Casts may be transformed into a removable cast or splint, reducing the risks and discomfort caused by permanent casts.
The patented 3-way stretch, elastic-free open-knit Polyester Cast Substrate make it easy to conform to even the most difficult of body contours without any tuck or fold. Delta-Cast^® Conforming Polyester Casting Tape provides a lighter cast without wrinkles, creases, or dangerous pressure points. The breathable, open structure promotes vapor to pass through, thereby preventing skin complications. Superior lamination lends the Delta-Cast^® Synthetic Cast Tapes lasting durability and resilience against cast breakdown. The smooth finish without roughness as Fiberglass Casts prevents cast snagging on sheets and clothing.
The silicone-free Casting Resin provides a reliable set time and a 3 minute working time, making Delta-Cast^® Conformable Polyester Casting Tape easy to mold. The special formula make casting tape workable with any glove. The cast is completely weight bearing within about 20 minutes. The cast is completely radiolucent for clear x-rays, allowing a physician to make a more accurate reading without need for removal of the cast.
Conformable Polyester Casting Tape is waterproof, reducing unscheduled change of cast associated with traditional plaster casts. When using with water resistant cast padding and stockinettes, Conformable Polyester Casting Tape can even be completely submerged, enabling the patient to bathe, shower, or even swim as normal. Waterproof cast padding will allow the cast to drain in minutes, and Delta-Cast^® Polyester Cast's vapor transmissing properties will allow the padding to completely dry within 1.5 hours.
