This motion, when combined with beads of the appropriate size and material, causes a high-velocity shock to the sample and is an extremely fast and efficient method of releasing cellular contents, including nucleic acids and proteins. Many different types of samples, from cells in culture to organ tissue and bone, can be homogenized in the BeadBug 6, with most samples being processed within 45 seconds. Sealed tubes prevent cross-contamination. Simply load the sample into the tube along with the beads and place it into the device for processing. The BeadBug 6 is designed to suit the needs of medium throughput laboratories and can process up to 6 samples simultaneously in a 2.0 mL tube.
