Introduction

The gene of LCN2 (also known as NGAL) is located on human autosome 9 (9q34), encoding a peptide chain containing 197 amino acid residues (including a mature peptide segment of 178 amino acid residues) and a leader of 19 amino acid residues sequence. LCN2 is mainly secreted by osteoblasts and can reduce appetite and body weight.
