The Agilent HP 5972 Mass Spectrometer is designed for use with the HP 5890 Series II Gas Chromatograph. Optionally, it can be used with 6890 series GCs (preferred). Refurbished to specification with performance documentation

The mass spectrometer is equipped with a monolithic hyperbolic quartz quadrupole mass filter, a fast-changing electron multiplier, a high-efficiency electron impact ion source, and a high-reliability vacuum system. Also included in the HP 5972 system is a new drive electronics with a second generation MS control card or Smart card II.

The HP 5972 is similar in design to the HP 5971A, but this model packs practical features and several new enhancements.
