The Movable Objective Microscope (MOM) is designed as an ultra-stable, multi-functional fluorescence platform for electrophysiology experiments. MOM is a new alternative to popular technology that uses a fixed table vertical microscope on a translational X-Y table. The advantage of MOM is that only the objective len of the microscope is moving in three dimensions. The main frame of the microscope, including the light source and camera bracket, is firmly fixed to the tabletop with a solid aluminum extrusion.
