Whirl-Pak® Pre-moistened Speci-Sponge® Bag, model B01423WA(Nasco) is manufactured by Aristotle Corporation. This product is used for faster and easier environmental surface sampling. The sponge is ready for use and hydrated with 10 ml neutralization buffer which neutralizes several surface disinfectants including quaternary ammonium compounds, phenols, iodine preparations, chlorine preparations, mercury, formaldehyde and glutaraldehyde. When using, please squeeze extra buffer from sponge. The shelf life of the buffer is 24 months without refrigeration. These bags are packed in foil lined bags to prevent the buffer from evaporating. The buffer solution contains potassium phosphate, sodium thiosulfate and arylsulfonate complexes.
