Description

This hydrophobic interaction medium is designed for flow-through purification of antibodies. It uses very large pores exceeding 100 nm to capture high-molecular-weight impurities. Strong phenyl hydrophobicity enables aggregate removal even at relatively low salt concentration. Product antibodies pass through the column while more hydrophobic aggregates are retained. The medium supports sample loading from 50 to 100 g per liter of resin. Product recovery is stated to exceed 95%. Less hydrophobic samples may also be processed in bind-and-elute mode. The medium is applicable to antibodies, aggregate-containing proteins, plasmid DNA, viruses, and other biomacromolecules.
