SRB Detection to analyze cell proliferation (CAT#: STEM-CBT-0005-WXH)

Introduction

Sulforhodamine B (SRB) colorimetric method is mainly used to detect cell proliferation. SRB is a pink anionic dye that is easily soluble in water and can specifically combine with basic amino acids that make up proteins in cells under acidic conditions. At the wavelength of 490-520nm, its optical absorption value (OD value) has a good linear positive correlation with the number of cells, which can be used as a quantitative detection of the number of cells.

Applications

Detection of cell proliferation.

Procedure

1. Cell Treatment
2. Cell fixation
3. SRB staining
4. SRB dissolution
5. OD value determination
