Procedure

• Platform sleep deprivation method: Place a platform in a tank of water with a diameter small enough for the rat to stand on.
• Forced exercise-water turntable method: Rats adapt to the box for a period of time, pour water under the box inside the box, start the power device to make the turntable rotate at a constant speed, and rats must stay awake to avoid falling into the water.
• Gentle stimulation method: Keep rats awake by gently tapping the cage or using stimuli such as sound and light.
• Drug injection method: mostly central nervous system stimulants.
