This strong cation-exchange medium is designed for purification of antibodies, recombinant proteins, vaccines, blood products, viruses, DNA, and peptides. It uses a porous polystyrene-divinylbenzene matrix with a hydrophilic surface treatment. Sulfonic-acid ligands provide strong cation-exchange functionality. The hydrophilic surface reduces nonspecific adsorption during chromatographic processing. The rigid polymeric matrix supports operation at high pressure and high linear flow. High resolution improves impurity removal and product recovery. Salt tolerance provides flexibility in process development and reduces the need for extensive feed dilution. The high dynamic binding capacity can reduce packed-bed volume, buffer consumption, and cycle count. The medium is suitable for capture, intermediate purification, and polishing operations.
