This ion-exchange medium is designed for high-resolution purification of antibodies, proteins, peptides, and nucleic acids. It uses highly crosslinked porous polystyrene-divinylbenzene monodisperse microspheres. A chemically stable hydrophilic layer is bonded to the particle surface. Sulfonic-acid ligands provide cation-exchange functionality despite the source classification inconsistency. The 15 µm particle size supports very high chromatographic resolution. The rigid polymeric matrix tolerates elevated pressure and high linear flow. A dynamic lysozyme capacity of at least 90 mg/mL supports preparative use. Low nonspecific adsorption contributes to product recovery. Broad pH stability supports repeated cleaning-in-place cycles.
