This sanitary disc filter housing is designed to hold one or more circular flat membranes for precision process filtration. Its stainless-steel construction supports clarification, prefiltration, sterilizing-grade liquid filtration, and sterile gas filtration. The circular housing opens through a sanitary clamp or three-claw locking mechanism for rapid membrane replacement. Internal product-contact surfaces are smoothly finished to reduce microbial retention and simplify cleaning. Compatible disc membranes can be selected from hydrophilic or hydrophobic materials according to the process fluid. Multiple membranes can be stacked when additional effective filtration area is required. The all-metal structure supports clean-in-place and steam-in-place procedures under suitable operating conditions. Sanitary seals provide a secure radial closure between the housing sections. The unit is applicable to pharmaceutical liquids, biological media, water systems, beverages, cosmetics, pure steam, and process gases.
