This Protein A affinity medium is designed for capture and purification of monoclonal and polyclonal antibodies. It uses highly crosslinked spherical agarose microspheres. An alkali-resistant recombinant Protein A ligand is coupled to the matrix. The ligand selectively binds the Fc region of compatible antibodies. A single affinity step can purify antibodies from ascites, serum, or cell-culture fluid. The medium provides a stated binding capacity of 50 mg/mL. High-flow performance supports efficient processing at laboratory and production scales. Alkali resistance allows cleaning with sodium hydroxide between purification cycles.
