The Recombinant Human IL-12 Protein manufactured by Seafrom is suitable for effects on natural killer (NK) cells and T cells, particularly in anti-tumor immunity.
Interleukin-12 (IL-12) is primarily produced by monocytes and macrophages but can also be generated by B cells and dendritic cells. IL-12 is a heterodimeric cytokine composed of two distinct gene products, IL-12A (p35) and IL-12B (p40). IL-12 receptors are predominantly found on T cells and natural killer (NK) cells. IL-12 stimulates the growth of Th1 and NK cells while inhibiting Th2 cell responses. It enhances the cytotoxicity of T lymphocytes and NK cells by promoting the secretion of IFN-γ and TNF-α and inhibiting the production of IL-4.
The lyophilized formulation can be stored at 2-8°C for 24 months. For reconstitution, it can be dissolved in injection-grade water, physiological saline, culture medium, or PBS. After dissolution, it should be divided into smaller aliquots and stored at -20°C for 6 months or at -80°C for 12 months, with a final concentration after dilution not lower than 100 μg/mL. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
