The Recombinant Human CD138 Protein manufactured by Seafrom is suitable for plasma cell differentiation and function. Syndecan-1 (SYND1 or SDC1) is a transmembrane heparan sulfate proteoglycan that belongs to the syndecan family. It serves various functions in mediating cell binding, signaling, and cytoskeletal organization. Syndecan receptors are involved in internalizing the HIV-1 tat protein. Syndecan-1 is essential for cell proliferation, migration, and interactions with the extracellular matrix through its receptor for matrix proteins. As a marker, Syndecan-1 is particularly useful for identifying plasma cells. It is important to note that the use of Syndecan-1 as a marker is most effective when testing cells that are already known to be derived from blood. The freeze-dried (lyophilized) form of the protein can be stored at 4℃ for up to 24 months. Once reconstituted, the liquid can be stored at -20℃ for 6-12 months, with precautions taken to avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Specification
Expression Host: Human HEK293 cells Source: Human Synonyms: SDC1, Syndecan-1, SYND1, SDC Protein Sequence: The DNA sequence encodes human CD138 (UniProtKB/Swiss-Prot: P18827.3), expressed with Fc tag at the C-terminus. Molecular Weight: Recombinant human CD138 protein contains 463 amino acids, with a predicted theoretical molecular weight of 50.8 kD. Purity: ≥95%, confirmed by SDS-PAGE gel and high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) analysis. Endotoxin: <0.1 EU/μg Biological Activity: Enhanced Saos2 (human osteosarcoma cells) adhesion to human fibronectin was detected by fixing the protein. The ED50 for this effect is 5-10 μg/mL, using 5x10^4 cells/well, and human Syndecan-1 and human fibronectin (0.5 μg/ml) as coated plates. Purification Method: Chromatographic purification Composition: Sterile PBS (pH 7.4) freeze-dried powder containing 6% mannitol.
