Description

Titanium Carbide (Ti2CTx) is a typical representative material among the emerging family of 2D layered transition metal carbides and/or nitrides referred to as MXenes. It has exhibited multiple advantages such as metallic conductivity, a plastic layer structure, small band gaps, and the hydrophilic nature of its functionalized surface.
Ti2CTx is the lightest MXene and supposed to have larger sorption capacity than Ti3C2Tx (the most widely studied MXene up to now) for the larger surface area and more functional groups per unit mass and thus attracted more interest in researchers.
