Polyvinylidene Fluoride Membrane (6.6×8.5cm, 0.45μm), model FFP32 is manufactured by Beyotime. This product is a pre-cut polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) blotting membrane with a pore size of 0.45μm. It is most commonly used for the transfer of protein from gel to membrane in Western blot. It can also be used for adsorption analysis, amino acid analysis, N-terminal protein sequencing, dot and slot blot detection, glycoprotein coloration and lipopolysaccharide analysis.
The PVDF membrane has a pore size of 0.45μm, which is suitable for most immunoblotting, especially for proteins with a molecular weight of less than 20kDa.
Compared with NC membrane, PVDF membrane has many advantages. PVDF membrane has high mechanical strength and is not easy to break or curl. It also has the advantages of low background, wide solvent compatibility, and excellent coloring ability. In addition, the PVDF membrane can be tested repeatedly after proper treatment.
The pre-cut size is 6.6×8.5cm, which can meet the transfer membrane of the most commonly used Western monolithic gel, so it is more convenient to use without self-cutting.
Due to the high hydrophobicity of the PVDF membrane, it needs to be soaked in an appropriate solution such as ethanol before use to achieve the purpose of activation and make the membrane easier to bind proteins.
This product is compatible with a variety of dyes, such as Ponceau-S red, Amido black, CPTS, Colloidal gold, and India ink. After dyeing with dyes such as Ponceau and CPTS, the dyes can be washed off, while dyes such as Amido black and India ink are irreversible.
This PVDF membrane is suitable for detection by chemiluminescence (such as BeyoECL Star, BeyoECL Plus, ECL, etc.), conventional color development (such as DAB, TMB), dyeing and isotope methods. If you need to use fluorescence detection (such as using the LI-COR Odyssey system), you need to use a special low fluorescence background PVDF membrane.
