Periodontitis Animal Model (CAT#: STEM-AE-0085-WXH)

Introduction

Periodontitis is mainly a chronic inflammation of periodontal supporting tissues caused by local factors. The age of onset is more common after the age of 35. If gingivitis is not treated in time, the inflammation can spread from the gums to the deep layer of the periodontal ligament, alveolar bone and cementum and develop into periodontitis. The clinical features of periodontitis mainly include four aspects: gingival inflammation, periodontal pocket formation, alveolar bone resorption, and tooth loosening and displacement.

Applications

Research on the mechanism and treatment of periodontitis.

Procedure

• Mechanical bone removal method: After the experimental dog is anesthetized and fixed, the mucoperiosteal flap is opened in the buccal molar area of the maxilla and mandible, and the buccal bone and cementum from the enamel cementum junction to the root are removed with a high-speed turbine columnar bur quality.
• Inoculation of pathogenic bacteria: gavage of P. gingivalis suspension, inoculation of wild-type actinomycetes
• Simple local ligation: The ligation thread is likely to cause continuous accumulation of plaque and continuous infiltration of inflammatory cells. Commonly used ligation materials include thin silk thread, nylon thread, cotton thread, orthodontic steel wire and elastic rubber ring, etc.
• Feed a high-sugar sticky diet.
