Description

The NDJ-5 is a benchtop Ford cup for conditional viscosity measurement of paints and coating products. It is designed and manufactured according to GB/T 1723. The instrument is suitable for coating samples with flow times below 150 seconds. A sample is filled into the cup and allowed to discharge through the specified outlet. The elapsed flow time is recorded in seconds as the conditional viscosity result. The cup is made from pure brass and uses a chrome-plated surface to resist oxidation. Its support column is manufactured from stainless steel for stable benchtop operation. The measured flow time can be converted to kinematic viscosity using the specified equations. For flow times below 23 seconds, the relationship is t = 0.154μ + 11, while for 23-150 seconds it is t = 0.223μ + 6.0.
