Magnetostriction Coefficient Measuring System

Magnetostriction refers to the changes in linearity and volume caused by changes in the magnetization state of ferromagnetic substances.

Magnetostriction is a property of ferromagnetic substances, which can be used to convert magnetic energy into mechanical energy. It is used for ultrasonic generators, actuators and sensors.

Magnetostriction is a phenomenon that can only be exhibited in magnetic materials such as iron, nickel, cobalt and their alloys.

The principle of magnetostriction is based on the fact that these materials have a certain magnetic properties. Magnetic materials placed in a magnetic field undergo microscopic deformations in their molecular structure, changing their dimensions.

Sample Requirements

  • The overall method measures magnetostriction, requiring a diameter of 15 - 45 mm and a height of 40 - 55 mm. The more parallel the two ends, the better, and the parallelism is less than 0.05 (the flatter the better). The pressure is not greater than 15 MPa.
  • The strain gauge method is used to measure magnetostriction. When no pressure is applied, the flat area of the sample surface should have an area of at least 5 × 10 mm. The flatter the end face of the sample under pressure, the better, and the thicker the better.
  • The magnetic field strength does not exceed 8000 Oersted by default.

Application

  • Measure the magnetostriction coefficient of positive and negative magnetostrictive materials, ferrite, soft magnetic, ferromagnetic and other materials
