Fluorescent Lamp Testing

Fluorescent lamps are a type of gas-discharge lamp that uses fluorescence to produce visible light. They contain low-pressure mercury-vapor in a long, thin inner borosilicate glass tube. The inner surface of the tube is coated with a phosphor material that fluoresces when it is excited by ultraviolet light. This UV light is created by a chemical reaction in the mercury vapor when an electric current is passed through it. Fluorescent lamps are commonly used in both residential and commercial settings due to their long lifespan and energy efficiency.

Fluorescent lamps are more energy-efficient than incandescent lamps, as they can produce the same amount of light using less power. However, they also contain small amounts of mercury, a toxic heavy metal, which can be problematic if the lamp breaks or is improperly disposed of.

STEMart provides comprehensive and reliable fluorescent lamp testing services to check the functionality, efficiency, and safety to ensure accuracy and reliability of the fluorescent lamps.
