Ferroptosis Analysis (CAT#: STEM-CBT-0015-WXH)

Introduction

Ferroptosis is a type of programmed cell death dependent on iron and characterized by the accumulation of lipid peroxides, and is genetically and biochemically distinct from other forms of regulated cell death such as apoptosis. Ferroptosis is initiated by the failure of the glutathione-dependent antioxidant defenses, resulting in unchecked lipid peroxidation and eventual cell death. Lipophilic antioxidants and iron chelators can prevent ferroptotic cell death.Extensive studies suggest that ferroptosis plays a pivotal role in tumor suppression, thus providing new opportunities for cancer therapy.

Applications

Study the mechanism and treatment of related diseases:
Ferroptosis is closely related to malignant tumors, neurological diseases, metabolic diseases, etc., and can intervene in the development of diseases by activating or inhibiting ferroptosis.

Procedure

1. Cell culture
2. Ferroptosis detection (electron microscope observation, Western blot, IHC/ICC, biochemical detection, flow cytometry and other detection methods are optional)
3. Result analysis
