Description

The DEP-300HC is a laboratory electrophoresis system designed for the separation and analysis of nucleic acids or proteins by gel electrophoresis. An electric field drives charged biomolecules through a gel matrix at rates proportional to their size and charge, enabling resolution by molecular weight. For horizontal gel electrophoresis, agarose gels are cast and run in TAE or TBE buffer for nucleic acid analysis. For vertical electrophoresis, polyacrylamide gels provide high-resolution separation of proteins and small nucleic acid fragments. The tank includes a UV-transparent or blue-light-compatible viewing window for direct gel inspection during or after the run. A safety lid interlock prevents accidental electrode contact during operation. The unit is compatible with standard power supplies providing constant voltage or current output. Removable gel trays and casting combs allow flexible gel format configuration for different sample numbers and band resolutions. An integrated blue-light transilluminator option enables safe, non-UV gel visualization and excision. This system is widely used in molecular biology, genomics, diagnostic, and educational laboratory applications.
