This dye-affinity chromatography medium is designed for purification of albumin and selected proteins. It uses a high-flow agarose matrix coupled with Cibacron Blue 3G-A ligand. Protein binding results from combined electronic and hydrophobic interactions with the dye ligand. The medium can capture albumin, interferons, coagulation factors, and enzymes requiring NAD+ or NADP+. Spherical particles support uniform bed formation and reproducible flow. A binding capacity above 18 mg BSA/mL supports preparative purification. The medium tolerates selected denaturants and ethanol. It can also withstand the stated heat-treatment conditions in water.
