The manufacturer of Benchmark Scientific PlateFuge C2000 PlateFuge Microplate Centrifuge is Benchmark Scientific. Model is PlateFuge C2000. Benchmark's PlateFuge™ is the first microplate centrifuge with a rotating rotor. Centrifuging the plate prior to PCR ensures that all reactions are at the bottom of the well to achieve the proper concentration and increase yield. Despite its very small footprint (9 x 10 In.), PlateFuge™ includes a uniquely designed rotating rotor (patent pending) that enables 2 microplates to be held in place. The easily accessible rotor chamber includes two plate carriers, resting at a 75° angle. This allows the board to be inserted without sealing tape or caps. After closing the centrifuge lid, the rotor accelerates and centrifugal force "swings" the plate to a horizontal position. Droplets on the wall of the plate quickly collect to the bottom of the well. At 600xg gravity, most samples can be spun down in less than 20 seconds. To end a run, just open the lid and the automatic, electric brake brings the rotor to a quick, smooth stop in just 4 seconds. The steel plate can then be easily removed from the rotor.
