The niCounter is an automated microbiology imaging system for colony counting and inhibition-zone analysis. It is intended for routine plate evaluation, antimicrobial testing, and related microbiological analysis. The system combines digital imaging, controlled illumination, and software-based recognition in a single workflow. It can process conventional culture plates as well as supported dry-film and chromogenic culture formats. Image analysis can classify colonies according to visual characteristics such as color, size, and circularity. Batch-processing functions support repeated analysis of similar plate types and export of statistical results. The integrated analysis modules support both colony enumeration and antibiotic-related inhibition-zone measurements. The configuration is designed to standardize visual microbiology measurements and reduce dependence on manual counting.
