CD19 is a transmembrane protein found on the surface of B cells. It is closely associated with B cell activation, signal transduction, and growth regulation. CD19 serves as a functional receptor molecule on the surface of B lymphocytes and forms part of the B cell dual antigen binding model when the B cell antigen receptor (BCR) recognizes antigens. It plays a role in the transport of Ca2+ within B cells, regulating B cell activation and proliferation. CD19 is widely used as a significant marker in the diagnosis and prognosis of leukemia, lymphoma, and immune system disorders. Consequently, anti-human CD19 monoclonal antibodies have become an important target in immunotherapy.
