Animal Treadmill Experiment (CAT#: STEM-AE-0002-WXH)

Introduction

The animal treadmill experiment mainly uses the animal treadmill to let small rodents do running exercise training, which can replace the traditional swimming training and make the training intensity index more accurate. It is one of the necessary means for experiments on physical fitness, endurance, sports injuries, nutritional medicine, physiology and pathology.<br />The main part of the treadmill is a rolling conveyor belt. The material of the surface is conducive to the animal's grip. The back wall of the channel is equipped with stimulating electrodes, sound-generating devices and small light bulbs, and the stimulating devices of each channel are independent of each other. When the animal refuses to run or the running speed is lower than the experimental requirements, it will retreat on the conveyor belt and touch the stimulation device on the back wall. Stronger electrical stimulation or sound stimulation will force the animal to run at the speed of the treadmill.

Applications

• Establish a sports model to explore the role of sports on physiology and pathology, so as to promote the scientificization of sports training, the improvement of competitive sports performance, and the reasonable and effective application of sports therapy in disease rehabilitation.
• A tool for studying exercise and metabolism, exercise and cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases and neurological diseases.

Procedure

In the process of exercise training, closely observe the changes in the exercise performance and exercise ability of the rats to avoid the occurrence of exercise-induced fatigue. During the experiment, the rats were fed, changed water, and cleaned every day, and their body weight and food intake were weighed once a week.
