Analysis of sTfR-1 (Human) by MSD Hypersensitive Multi-Factor Electrochemiluminescence Analyzer (CAT#: STEM-MB-0555-LGZ)

Introduction

The transferrin receptor (TfR) mediates the entry of iron-containing ferritin from the extracellular to the intracellular. TfR is present on the surface of many cells, but it is mostly present in active cells during hemoglobin synthesis. Soluble transferrin receptor (sTfR) is derived by proteolysis of cell surface receptors. sTfR and different transferrin exist in the form of complex in serum. About 80% of sTfR in serum comes from early erythrocytes. When erythropoietic activity increases, especially iron deficiency, sTfR synthesis increases, thus increasing serum sTfR concentration.

Principle

Detection Technique: MSD Hypersensitive Multi-Factor Electrochemiluminescence
Capture Antibody: Goat Polyclonal
