Analysis of Monoamine Oxidase (MAO) by Ultraviolet-visible Spectrophotometer (CAT#: STEM-MB-1363-LGZ)

Introduction

Sensitivity: 6 U/L
Detection range: 6-722 U/L
Precision: inter-lot difference of 3.3%, intra-lot difference of 2.7%
Detection equipment: Ultraviolet-visible Spectrophotometer
Detection wavelength: 355 nm

Principle

4-Dimethylaminobenzylamine is catalyzed by MAO to generate p-dimethylaminobenzaldehyde. p-Dimethylaminobenzaldehyde has a characteristic absorption peak in the ultraviolet-visible region, and its maximum absorption wavelength is 355 nm. The activity of MAO can be indirectly analyzed by analyzing the amount of p-dimethylaminobenzaldehyde produced, that is, the specific activity of MAO can be obtained.

Applications

It is suitable for detecting the activity of monoamine oxidase (MAO) in animal tissue samples, serum and plasma samples.

Procedure

1. Prepare standard samples and experimental samples.
2. Add reaction reagents in order for reaction.
3. Measure the absorbance of each tube.
4. Make the mark curve and calculate the result.

Materials

• Sample Type: animal tissue samples, serum and plasma samples
