Introduction

Dementia generally refers to Alzheimer's disease. Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a neurodegenerative disease with insidious onset and progressive development. Clinically, it is characterized by comprehensive dementia such as memory impairment, aphasia, apraxia, agnosia, impairment of visuospatial skills, executive dysfunction, and personality and behavior changes. The etiology is still unknown.

Procedure

• Dementia model induced by cholinergic damage: cut off the fornix-fimbria hippocampus after anesthetizing rats/inject chemical drugs.
• Aβ injection-induced dementia model: inject Aβ into bilateral hippocampus.
• Vascular dementia (VD) animal model: bilateral carotid artery occlusion.
