Power and Instrument Control Electronics

Compatible data analysis software is best suited for personal computers running the Microsoft® Windows XP Professional operating system. This software can be purchased as the basic data analysis software for a single instrument. Each edition includes data acquisition, instrumentation control, data analysis, automation and customization capabilities.

Applications integrated into the software allow configuration and customization of instruments, including the HP 5973 and other MSDs. The tuning procedure is responsible for the voltage adjustment of the ion source, the calibration of the mass distribution and the scanning of the control analyzer.

The data acquisition application allows the user to keep an eye on the total ion chromatogram (TIC). Mass spectra of gas chromatographic peaks can be automatically stored using the same type of program, especially using the scan mode. Selected Ion Monitoring (SIM) SIM mode allows selective monitoring of specific ions. Data analysis programs allow integration of chromatograms in TIC or SIM, as well as viewing and manipulation of mass spectral data. Users can compare acquired spectra with reference spectral databases in a library search. Users can also quantify data and generate reports through information analysis applications.
