Head-out Plethysmography System, 2 Channels, Universal for Rats and Mice, Shanghai TOW Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd. (CAT#: STEM-LEAR-1033-YJL)

Highlights

During the measurement process using the Head-out Plethysmography System, the animal remains conscious and does not require anesthesia, which avoids the impact of traumatic tracheotomy and anesthesia, allowing a simple and fast experimental process, and is suitable for long-term follow-up research.
The system can detect and record changes in vital respiratory parameters and airway hyper-responses during the excitation process to evaluate bronchoconstriction.
(can be selected according to experimental requirements)

Description

Head-out Plethysmography System, 2 Channels, Universal for Rats and Mice, model HOP-2MR is manufactured by Shanghai TOW Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd.
The head-out plethysmography system (Head-Out Plethysmography) adopts a special design to separate the neck of the small animal from the body, and expose the mouth and nose to the outside, and measure the gas volume and pressure changes in the chamber containing the thorax in real time. Glaab et al. used mACh stimulation on asthmatic mice, and took the mAh amount (EF50) when the mid-expiratory flow (EF50) dropped by 55% as an index to indicate the sensitivity of the bronchial response. The study proved that EF50 has a better correlation with RL and CL The correlation can better reflect the mechanical dynamics changes of the respiratory system.
